TV AERIALS AND RECEPTION
| Terrestrial television
channels are transmitted via UHF (Ultra High Frequency) |
| frequencies between 470 and
854 MHz. These frequencies have been divided into |
| 8MHz bandwidths (the amount
required to transmit one analogue television |
| channel) and numbered from 21
to 68. |
| Channels from 21 up to 38 are
officially known as band 1V, while channels 39 and |
| upwards are in band V. To
avoid channels interfering with each other, adjacent |
| transmitters transmit TV
channels on different numbers and TV receiving aerials |
| have been developed to focus
only on numbers that are relevant to your |
| transmitter. |
